When Your Facility Is Destroyed Overnight, How Do You Rebuild Stronger?

What 20 Years of Building Taught Me

Recently, I had the pleasure of joining Shay Senior on the Autonomous Podcast for a conversation about entrepreneurship, innovation, manufacturing, and the journey that led to the creation of AeroSentinel.

What started as a discussion about drones quickly became a conversation about something much broader: building a company over two decades, navigating uncertainty, making difficult decisions, and staying focused on a long-term vision.

When I founded the company in 2005, we weren’t building drones.

We were a small team focused on advanced composite manufacturing, developing capabilities and solving engineering challenges for a variety of industries.

Over time, we recognized the growing potential of unmanned aerial systems and made a strategic decision to focus our efforts on developing operational drone platforms designed for real-world missions.

Looking back, one of the most important lessons I learned as an entrepreneur is that success often comes from what you choose not to do.

Every customer has unique requirements. Every market presents new opportunities. Every year brings new technologies and trends.

The challenge is maintaining focus.

Understanding what you do exceptionally well.

And having the discipline to continue investing in that direction.

That principle continues to guide AeroSentinel today.

As the company grew, we remained committed to developing reliable ISR solutions that provide actionable intelligence for operators in demanding environments around the world.

The conversation also touches on one of the most difficult moments in our company’s history.

Earlier this year, an Iranian missile struck our facility during Passover evening, causing significant damage to equipment, infrastructure, and production capabilities.

While the physical destruction was substantial, the experience reinforced something we have always believed:

A company is not defined by its buildings.

It is defined by its people.

The determination, professionalism, and resilience demonstrated by our team during that period remain one of the moments I am most proud of as a founder.

Today, AeroSentinel continues to grow, innovate, and deliver operational capabilities to customers around the world.

I would like to thank Shay Senior for the opportunity to share our story and reflect on the lessons learned throughout this journey.
